Are you afraid about your phone's data being lost and thinking about its safety? This post will tell you whether android phones do really require antivirus or not.
But wait a minute let me tell you some brief information about Android. Android is an operating system which is based on Linux distribution. Earlier Linux was used only used for pen-testing, cybersecurity. Later Android OS was developed using this same OS. Mostly Linux does not get infected by any malware or prone to less effective.
Mostly 85% of users in the world have android and the rest use other OS. Since Android users are more there are chances of being affected more as compared to other OS.
If you do download apps/ games from other sources rather then play store then you may prefer to have one installed. Most of the operating systems have pre-installed antivirus that scans for files that enter your phone.
If you know about all the security and is kind enough about how to handle any suspicious activity then you may proceed further. Mostly you need to download apps from trusted sources such as play store but as seen in recent scenario there are some affected apps on play store too that may contain malware. In certain condition, the only option is not to forget to check the permissions required by the app. Do not just simply install and get carried away.
Example: If you download a calculator app from play store and it asks for permission to access your camera then please do not install. As you are smart enough and of common sense of why the calculator requires camera access.

How to know if your phone has already affected by malware or not.
Its simple just check your phone task manager and see which apps are acquiring more ram usage and battery draining. If you find any suspicious app then go ahead and click uninstall.
You can also scan your files online using Virus Total. Just open the site and upload the file you need to scan and it will scan this file using every antivirus just in a jiffy and showing you the results.
If you are a reputed person and can be targeted by hackers than you must have antivirus. In my case, I do not use any antivirus and do not actually need one. Because I am aware of every single click I do.
