10 Ways To Make Window Faster | Boost Your Windows Experience

It is possible that you might’ve come across some or many of these Windows 10 performance tricks across the web. But I think it would be great to refresh your memories. These tips should help you improve performance on your computer by cleaning it.

So let us begin with our post on How To Make Windows Faster

10 Ways To Make Window Faster | Boost Your Windows Experience

Step#1 Stop programs that load on startup

When you turn on your windows some of its programs launches at startup so that they’re instantly available when you need them. It’s a common sight for most Windows users to have tons of apps and features loaded when their machines start. These are mostly the ones installed by the manufacturers, and others which automatically launch at startup.

To disable this right-click on the Start button and click Task Manager.Click the Startup tab. You'll see a list of the programs and services that launch when you start Windows. Included on the list is each program's name as well as its publisher, whether it's enabled to run on startup, and its "Startup impact," which is how much it slows down Windows 10 when the system starts up.

To stop a program or service from launching at startup, right-click it and select "Disable." This doesn't disable the program entirely; it only prevents it from launching at startup -- you can always run the application after launch. Also, if you later decide you want it to launch at startup, you can just return to this area of the Task Manager, right-click the application and select "Enable."

Step#2  Clean up your disk

It'll improve performance and free up space on your hard drive. Disk Cleanup has been around forever, but this trusted Windows utility can still help clean out the temporary files, installers and other junk littering your hard drive. To run it, just search for Disk Cleanup, run it and choose the drive to be cleaned and then click on clean up system files.

Step#3 Remove applications you don't need

Unused applications don’t necessarily do your PC any direct harm, but they take up valuable hard disk space and room in the memory, and tend to mean Windows is working harder than it needs to. They can also cause unexpected bugs and incompatibility issues with other devices and apps.
Type “uninstall” in the taskbar search box then pick Change or remove a program to see all the applications currently stored on your machine. For any that have been gathering dust for a few months, click the relevant icon and select Uninstall, then follow the instructions on screen to complete the process.

Step#4 Change your power settings

If you’re using Windows 10’s Power saver plan, you’re slowing down your PC. That plan reduces your PC’s performance in order to save energy. (Even desktop PCs typically have a Power saver plan.) Changing your power plan from Power saver to High performance or Balanced will give you an instant performance boost.
To do it, launch Control Panel, then select Hardware and Sound > Power Options. You’ll typically see two options: Balanced (recommended) and Power saver. (Depending on your make and model, you might see other plans here as well, including some branded by the manufacturer.) To see the High performance setting, click the down arrow by Show additional plans.
To change your power setting, simply choose the one you want, then exit Control Panel. High performance gives you the most faster performance, but uses the most power; Balanced finds a median between power use and better performance; and Power saver does everything it can to give you as much battery life as possible. Desktop users have no reason to choose Power saver, and even laptop users should consider the Balanced option when unplugged -- and High performance when connected to a power source.

Step#5 Disable background apps

There are many apps that run in the background even when you haven’t actually launched them. That means you can access their features more quickly, but it’s a waste of system resources if you don’t use these apps on a regular basis.

To disable this software running in the background, go to Settings from the Start menu then click Privacy and Background apps. Turn off the toggle switches next to the apps you don’t want to have running all the time. Of course, you can still launch these programs manually if you need them.

Step#6 Scan your PC for malware to speed up Windows

Well, this might be the most naive thing you would read in the post intended towards speeding up Windows 10 PCs. Malware community has existed for decades, and their fear compelled Microsoft to include an anti-virus tool in their operating system; it’s called Windows Defender.
Your slow Windows 10 system might be due to some fishy app hiding inside the machine, disguised as some system update program or anything else.
You should regularly scan your PC for malware, either by using Windows Defender or some third-party antivirus software, to make your Windows faster.

Step#7 Run a disk defragment

Sounds complicated, but this is basically a way of reconfiguring how your hard drive stores information for maximum efficiency.
Go to "My Computer", right-click on the hard drive and select "Properties". Under the "Tools" tab there should be an option to "Defragment Now".

Step#8 Find and fix the problem

Windows 10 has a built-in performance troubleshooter that can help you find and fix any problems that might be affecting your PC's speed. To open the troubleshooter, right-click on the Start button and click Control Panel. Under Security and Maintenance at the top, click Troubleshoot common computer problems. Next, under System and Security, click Run maintenance tasks.

Step#9 Install latest update

Keeping up with system and driver updates is another good way to increase the performance of Windows 10 — even though they not always work as expected.

Windows Update

Although updates happen automatically on Windows 10, sometimes you'll still need to manually check to install a new quality update, feature update, and device drivers that may have been released to improve performance.
To check for updates, do the following:Open Settings.Click on Update & Security.Click on Windows Update.Click the Check for updates button.

Step#10 Reset your device

Alternatively, if nothing seems to increase performance, you can reset your device to start fresh with a clean copy of Windows 10 to improve startup and shutdown, battery life, and overall performance.
Warning: If you're choosing not to keep your files, it's recommended to make a full backup of your PC or at least make a copy of your files to an external drive before proceeding.
Perform these steps to reset your PC:
  1. Open the Start menu > Setting > Update & Security
  2. In the window that appears, select Recovery in the left pane
Under Reset this PC, click the Get started button to begin the process.
